Headmaster's Note-Spetember2006

I extend a hearty welcome to all returning and new students and their families to St. Margaret's Episcopal School for the 2006/07 school year. More than twenty new families have joined our school community. I am excited that we open our school year with 170 registered students. This number represents an increase of 20 students since September 2005. Please welcome our new parents and their children to our school.

My fundamental belief is that all students can learn and improve their academic achievement in a positive and secure instructional environment. Consequently, I promote and communicate to you in what I believe as the Head of School.

I believe that every student has the right to learn in a safe, secure and nurturing educational environment. At St. Margaret's, emphasis is placed on

• Fostering, promoting, and modeling a positive self-esteem among all students, faculty, and staff
• The inclusion of all school community members in the decisions affecting the school
• Maintaining timely and effective communication among all school community members and most importantly
• Increasing the academic achievement of all students by focusing on learning.

We have a dedicated and excellent staff who model positive and supportive behavior for our students on a consistent basis. Our teachers and staff promote and demonstrate our philosophy of always being fair, firm, consistent and empathetic with all students. This philosophy supports our belief that all students can achieve academically, emotionally and socially and become successful life long learners. To help us foster this philosophy at school and home, we invite parents to participate actively in the life of the school by volunteering and supporting the school financially. Your support helps us to maintain and upgrade our excellent instructional programs that we offer at St. Margaret's.

I have an open door policy and encourage parents to visit the school and contact me with any concerns, issues or thoughts regarding St. Margaret's. May God bless you and keep each and everyone of you safe.
